Philip West has degrees in Natural Sciences (Cambridge 1974) and Theology
(London 1982), and a PhD in the areas of Philosophy, Theology and Social Theory
(Cambridge 1986).

He was Head of Science at Leeds Girls' High School and Head of Religious Studies
at Westminster Under School. In 2010 he retired to concentrate on writing.

Philip is a regular contributor of Philosophy and Biology articles for Aquila
magazine, the Science writer for Oxford Open Learning, a freelance editor for
Twig World educational videos, and an A Level examiner for Cambridge
International Examinations. His first book, on paganism in the Old Testament,
was published in June 2012.

He has three grown-up children and lives in north London with his wife Tricia,
who is a primary school Headteacher.
